The design challenges the typical social housing typology by integrating the neighboring park into the site, creating an open public courtyard. The two buildings enter a formal dialogue and show that they belong together. Vertical steps in the façade create a differentiated volume that expresses the individual units to the outside. At the same time these steps provide rectangular rooms and a spatially appealing main corridor on the inside.
Studinest is a contemporary building ensemble in Rostock, which is familiar and at the same time unique.
