Single family house

The multi-generational home in Rabenhorst near Rostock is situated at the edge of the village with clear views of the surrounding agricultural landscape. The house is made up of three pitched-roof volumes that shift to adapt to the curved site boundary, creating a composition that mediates between the scale of the village and the openness of the countryside.

Arranged freely across the site, the repeated forms generate a sequence of indoor and outdoor spaces that accommodate the changing needs of three generations living together. Shared spaces are oriented toward the landscape, while the positioning of the volumes allows for moments of privacy and retreat.

Brick walls anchor the house to the ground and support timber roof structures that extend outward to form a covered terrace to the south and a sheltered entrance facing the street to the north. The restrained material palette and clear geometric language reinforce the project’s relationship to the surrounding rural context.

Through its varied spatial atmospheres and adaptable organization, Haus H offers a flexible framework for family life over time.
